Productions

With our productions we cover a variety of timeslots and genres: from daytime to primetime; from big shows to scripted entertainment. But they all have one thing in common: the passion that we put into them.

Police Beat (

Police Beat ("Wache Köln-Ost")

POLICE BEAT takes a hard look behind the facade of daily police work. It’s told from two perspectives -
the police and the victims of the crimes. But it’s not like any ordinary crime show. This one goes deeper
than ever seen in documentary style programs. Each episode includes 1-2 stories with multiple twists
and turns achieved through unique storytelling. The stories are told with well-written scripts, amateur
actors, and former policemen and women. All are made to feel very real with the look of an intense doc
series. It’s an incredibly economic way to depict dramatic, emotional, and sometimes humorous stories
to which no doc series could get access to, nor capture on camera. The stories are purely scripted, but
inspired by real police cases and news events. This is one POLICE BEAT you won’t want to miss!

About us

Seapoint is an independent production company that brings together experienced TV makers, backed by German producer-distributor Beta Film. Our genre focus is on Show, Factual Entertainment and Daytime, while our sister company, Bantry Bay, focuses on drama.  Both companies develop ideas in-house and bring international ideas and formats to Germany through a network of creative partnerships and through format acquisitions.

Founded by Jan Kromschröder and Stefan Oelze in 2014, Seapoint works for all TV broadcasters and all media platforms in the market place.

The two founders were joined in the course of 2014 Nina Klink, who became MD of Seapoint in 2015 – and Imke Runde who runs the daytime unit at Seapoint.

Recent Seapoint productions include the German version of „Dancing With the Stars“ - „Let’s Dance“ and “Das Sommerhaus der Stars” (“Power Couple”), some factual entertainment formats for RTL, RTL2 and ZDF, and scripted entertainment productions for both the daytime at RTL and SAT.1.

Our name

At the most southern tip of Africa, in Cape Town, many television films and series are filmed. So, while filming on location in Cape Town and during a stroll along the beautiful coastal line, the inspiration was found to use two stunning Cape Town locations, "Bantry Bay" and "Sea Point" as namesakes for our two new companies.

Seapoint (or Sea Point) got its name in 1776, when one of the commanders serving under Captain Cook encamped his men in the area to avoid a smallpox epidemic in Cape Town. Seapoint soon grew into a beautiful residential suburb in the early 1800s. Originally a 200 acres estate called, Winterslust, it is now one of the most desired areas of Cape Town, between Signal Hill and the Atlantic Ocean

A beautiful and inspiring place, a good idea: These "working titles" actually became our brand names since we started up in 2014. Names that stand for a strong creative team, working eye-to-eye with our partners.
